SVN server

Release date: Short time ago
Base SVN revision: various
Replaced files: tremded
Required files: base/vm/game.qvm

This is the development version of Tremulous. Many bugs of Vanilla 1.1.0 server are fixed in it. Before you send a bugreport to Tremulous Bugzilla, make sure the server uses the latest SVN revision. Before you can install SVN server, you will have to check the latest snapshot of sources out of repository and compile it.

Since revision 872, the SVN server code is no longer compatible with vanilla or backport clients.

TJW server

Release date: 22nd September 2006
Base SVN revision: 823 (older releases still available)
Replaced files: tremded
Required files: base/vm/game.qvm

Tony J. White's (TJW) server modification is the easiest way to get rid of many bugs, because it is available in binary release as well as a patch to source codes. You can find it here. TJW server has also excellent installation instructions which apply on most of other server modifications.

New features:

TJW (along with Norfenstein) is exploring modifications and changes that may or may not be incorporated into version 1.2 of Tremulous. The web page detailing the current changes as well as server statistics can be found here. Details of these changes are currently (April 2007) being discussed in the Feedback section of the Tremulous Forums.

Server-only modifications

KOCOUR-CZ

Release date: 12th November 2006
Base SVN revision: 871
Replaced files: tremded
Required files: base/game.qvm

This modification is TJW SVN 823 modified for newer SVN revision with some bugfixes in testing and new features. It is available as both binary release and source code patch here (note: the page is in Czech, however, you should be able to find the right links).

New features:

Client and server modifications

These mods will require any connecting clients to download the mod files as well. Server operators should be aware that windows clients have the cvar cl_allowDownload set to 0 (off) by default and, if your server runs a client/server mod will be disconnected as unpure clients.

Risujin's Balance mod

Balance mod, built on top of the latest SVN and including numerous patches, adds a new radar system, a new weapon to the human team, and a new class to the alien team, in addition to many minor tweaks.
